Jira Guest alternative: keep partners outside your Jira
Jira Guest is useful when someone should work inside Jira. Collabound is for teams that want to share selected work items through a partner portal — without adding people to the site or giving them a Jira seat.
Where people work
Jira Guest
Guests are added into your Jira site.
Collabound
Partners work in a portal outside Jira.
What they can access
Jira Guest
One space only. In that space they can create, edit, and transition work items.
Collabound
Selected work items only — not an entire project. You choose the fields they see.
Internal users
Jira Guest
You cannot convert internal or paid Jira users to Guest.
Collabound
Share selected work items with external partners or members of your own organization, without extra Jira seats.
Plans
Jira Guest
Available on Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. Not available on Free.
Collabound
Installed from the Atlassian Marketplace. Partners do not need Jira licenses.
Access control
Jira Guest
Guest access is space-scoped inside Jira.
Collabound
Field-level visibility, revoke, and audit logs on each share.
What Jira Guest does
Jira Guest is available on Standard, Premium, and Enterprise. It is not available on the Free plan. Guests are free up to five per paid user. Each guest is added into Jira and limited to one space, where they can create, edit, and transition work items. Internal or paid users cannot be converted to Guest.
What Collabound does
Collabound shares selected work items — not an entire project — through a partner portal outside Jira. You control field-level visibility, can revoke access, and keep audit logs. Partners do not consume extra Jira seats. You can also share with members of your own organization.
