Choose External Share when
- You need to share boards, filters, or timelines, not just individual issues.
- You want a mature, widely reviewed app with Cloud Fortified status and a public roadmap.
- Your recipients are ad hoc and a link with a password or expiry is all you need.
Choose Collabound when
- Your security team wants administrators, not individual users, to decide which fields can leave Jira.
- You work with the same clients, vendors, or agencies repeatedly and want them to have one place for everything shared.
- You need partner comments, files, and status changes to land back in the Jira issue.
- You are a small team that wants the full product free, or a larger site that wants roughly half the price.
